Come closer. There is more inside.
RIBBON GARDEN: Glimmer Air is an original photograph by John DeFaro for Green Religion. Seen at intimate range, layers of ribbon, yarn and natural fiber become a soft interior landscape. Metallic surfaces catch fragments of light while familiar materials slip gently toward abstraction.
The closeness recalls resting one’s head upon a pillow and imagining that what lies inside is not ordinary filling at all, but an unexpected world of texture, color and reflected light. Nothing here asks to be fully explained. The image offers a polite mystery: familiar enough to enter, yet elusive enough to keep looking.
Gathered over time, many of these repurposed materials came from The Things Lab, Miami’s celebrated reuse project. At DeFaro’s home, they became part of a suspended garden curtain where human-made remnants mingle with plants, weather and shifting daylight.
In Glimmer Air, silver glows without spectacle. Green becomes timeless. The materials behave like a quiet and gracious guest who never needs to leave.
Offered as an open-edition canvas photograph created exclusively for Green Religion.
