There’s no place like Earth.
Founded by artist, designer, and Creative Director John DeFaro, Green Religion is a climate-aware design studio and cultural brand. The Green Religion Shop extends that practice into physical form, where drawings, paintings, sculpture and ideas move into apparel, objects, and wall pieces made to be lived with.
The brand is shaped by a simple belief. What we create should reflect how we live with the Earth. Thoughtful. Responsive. Open to change.
Based in Miami for more than three decades and shaped by early years on Long Island, DeFaro works along a North to South line where light, weather, and landscape inform the visual language. While grounded in these regions, the spirit of Green Religion extends wherever people feel connected to the living world.
Time in Costa Rica deepened this direction. A place where restoration and long term thinking are visible and active. That example continues to guide the brand’s commitment to climate awareness and care.
Green Religion operates as both a design practice and an evolving platform. A brand built through collaboration, with artists, contributors, and communities bringing forward ideas and ways of seeing that move culture closer to environmental awareness. This exchange continues through From the Field, where stories, observations, and shared experiences expand the work beyond the object.
The work remains open. Teachable. In motion.
The imagery, colors, and textures come from a sustained relationship with nature. Observed. Drawn. Lived with. Returned to. A resource that continues to give and asks for care in return.
Each piece is made when chosen. This approach reduces excess, supports intentional production, and reflects a system designed to provide without waste.
The canopy stays open.
