Tree Tattoos begin as original watercolor works by John DeFaro. Ink-like signals and layered marks emerge from time spent outdoors observing the living world. The forms suggest plants and animals encountered along the way. The imagery reads as a mark rather than an illustration.
Printed in black on white ceramic, each mug carries a single mark placed with intention and space. The artwork includes the small hand-drawn J DeFaro signature near the base of the image.
