FAMOUS OUTSIDE began as a public artwork by artist and Green Religion founder John DeFaro during Miami Art Week 2025.
Presented as a Special Projects installation with Feria Clandestina Art Fair, the phrase stretched across the street-facing windows of the Gold Dust Motel along Biscayne Boulevard as an 80 × 252-inch eco-vinyl typographic installation.
Rendered in the Green Religion logotype font Unbounded, the work replaced the “I” and “E” in OUTSIDE with a bold aqua, white, and black eye. A meditation on visibility, attention, and the act of seeing beyond ourselves. The installation was not designed for instant consumption. It was designed to disrupt perception.
Reimagining Andy Warhol’s notion of fame, DeFaro shifts the spotlight to the living world. Trees. Air. The shared canopy that holds us all.
This edition extends the public artwork into daily movement.
When you wear FAMOUS OUTSIDE, you become part of the project.
The street becomes gallery.
The sky becomes stage.
We are all famous outside.
