Moments For Renewal

Let’s celebrate who we are and the work we do, embracing Green Religion and the compassionate minds carrying this mission forward. Infused with the playful energy of Miami’s tropical climate, our “Marshland” theme references our low-lying wetlands—a transition zone between land and water with grassy vegetation. Textile artist Laura Marsh invites us to reimagine sustainability as mindfulness expressed toward the lands we inhabit. Raised in Pennsylvania’s wetlands, she draws inspiration from these vital ecosystems, which cover about 6% of Earth’s surface, and champions creative reuse by working with upcycled fabrics. Through daily sun breaks, Laura reflects on moments of self-care that restore both spirit and planet.

Eco Sun Break Rituals for Resetting (1-2 moments a day):

1. Create a Dedicated Time

Set aside 15–20 minutes once or twice a day, especially during times of anxiety or stress (these emotions can build up over time, sending the body into a state of fight or flight). Use this time to meditate with your feet firmly grounded on the grass, known as “earthing,” ideally in the sun. Earthing neutralizes your body with the earth’s electrons. Move freely or try spinning in place to refresh your energy. If outdoor access isn’t an option, sit near a plant, open a window, or sit in the sunlight to simulate the experience. On overcast or rainy days, find natural light by a window, terrace, porch, or balcony—natural light and air offer significant benefits for physical, mental, and respiratory health. Visualize yourself as part of nature—a river, a tree, or simply a bubble of positive energy.

2. Embrace the Sun’s Presence

Close your eyes and feel the sun’s warmth on your forehead, letting its rays bring calm. Begin with rapid, deep breaths, gradually softening to a slower rhythm as if the sun is recharging you. Imagine it guiding you into balance with the earth around you.

3. Set a Positive Intention

Speak your intention for the day out loud. Open your eyes, take a final deep breath, and smile as you exhale, carrying this renewed energy forward. Let this daily ritual ground you, offering moments of restoration for both body and mind in harmony with the green spaces around you, refreshing your frequency.
