Green Painting
Listen with your eyes.
Green Painting turns viewing into attention and attention into connection. Its crisscrossed brushwork recalls the patterned lawns of the artist’s childhood, when fossil-fueled mowing became part of keeping up appearances. Reclaimed by hand, that familiar pattern becomes a quiet reflection on how we care for the living world.
Mixed in the Green Religion studio, its particular green incorporates powder made from the dried outer casing of Royal Poinciana seedpods gathered in Miami. Their visible particles carry a physical trace of the local landscape into every painting.
Let it find its place.
Small enough to move through daily life, Green Painting gathers meaning wherever a hand places it: beside a bed in the morning light, on a living room shelf, at the center of a kitchen, within the shelter of a porch, or carried into another landscape.
With every placement, it enters into an exchange with its surroundings, receiving light, atmosphere, memory, and attention while offering its own green presence in return. Quietly carrying climate AWEARness wherever it arrives, Green Painting does not simply occupy spaces. It participates in them.
An intimate original artwork and a meaningful gift for someone who notices, loves, and cares for the living world.
